It’s time…it’s time…it’s Book End Time!  Welcome to this week’s Book End, highlighting the weekend’s literary and library events here in Hawaii.

Book Sales – Last Chance!

Doing some last minute holiday shopping, or just want something for yourself?  You may want to check out the following deals that our local publishers are running throughout the holidays:

Today is the LAST DAY to get 35% off your entire order at the University of Hawaii Press.  Take advantage of this offer now if you’re interested in UH Press’ vast collection.

Bess Press is now offering 40% off of their new and old titles on their website!  Although it only says 30% off on the website (using code 30off at checkout), I have confirmation that the 40% off code is BP40.

If you visit the Bamboo Ridge Press website, you’ll notice they are offering a great deal of any five of their books for $40.  This is a great chance to catch up on your Bamboo Ridge library; I checked out some of the calculations and you can save over 50% on the cover prices with this deal.  Great books at great prices!

I found this one page on the Mutual Publishing website that provides a special offer for four of Mutual’s finest cookbooks.  Two are already out of stock, but it looks like By Request 2 (read our review) and What Maui Likes To Eat are still both available at the reduced prices.  Check out this offer here: Special Offer on Books from Mutual Publishing.

If you know of any other special sales or offers going on with local books, let me know and I’ll add it on here and spread the word…

HBB on the web

Speaking of spreading the word…don’t forget to follow Hawaii Book Blog on Facebook and Twitter to hear the latest about book events, sales, giveaways and the latest news about local books, authors, and publishers!

We’ve also recently started a YouTube account and hope to not only bring you more videos from Hawaii book events but also compile playlists of videos from other sources related to Hawaii books and authors.

Also, if you’re on Goodreads, we do have an HBB group set up.  Although we haven’t been active lately, we’re trying to compile more information and anyone is invited to discuss local books and/or ask questions.

Connect with us!  We want to hear more from everybody about what they think and enjoy about Hawaii’s awesome literary scene!
