Saturday, September 11

  • 09:00am – Friends of the Library Kona (FOLK) Book Sale at Kailua-Kona Public Library (Big Island).  Proceeds from sales help support the needs of the Kona libraries.  For more info visit folkhawaii.com
  • 10:00am – The Friends of Mililani Library invite you to a Book Sale at Mililani Public Library with books on sale starting at 25 cents.  From 10am – 3pm.  Call 626-7292.
  • 10:00am – Children’s Storytime at Barnes & Noble Lahaina (Maui).  More info
  • 10:00am – Storytime at Borders in Pearlridge Shopping Center.  Kids of all ages are invited.  More info
  • 11:00am – Meet Author Margaret Dilloway at Hawaii Kai Public Library (O’ahu).  Margaret Dilloway will discuss her recently published novel, How to Be an American Housewife, her writing process, and her experience publishing the novel.  For more information, call 397-5833 or click here.
  • 11:00am – Costume Character storytime at Barnes & Noble Kahala Mall.  Clifford the Big Red Dog will be the special storytime guest as they read stories from his adventures.  More info
  • 11:00am – Children’s Storytime at Barnes & Noble Ala Moana will be reading Benjamin and Bumper to the Rescue by Molly Coxe.  More info
  • 11:45am – It’s “The Pickle Lady’s Pickle Passion” at Hawaii State Library’s First Floor Reading Room.  “The Pickle Lady” will share her passion for pickles, and demonstrate some easy recipes made from scratch and allow audience members to sample her food.  For more information, please call the Library’s Hawaii and Pacific Section at 586-3535.

Sunday, September 12

  • 09:00am – Ho’olaule’a and Book Launch at Kula Hospital Grounds (100 Keokea Place, Maui).  Featuring new book Kula San: Maui’s Healing Place by Dr. Patricia A. Brown.  Event includes food and craft booths, keiki activities, entertainment and a book signing.  Free and Open to the public.  For detailed information please view this flyer.
